Despite the widespread popularity of GLP-1 medications in the U.S., nearly three in four diabetes patients stop treatment within a year. While most research focuses on claims data and discontinuation rates, the patient experience behind long-term adherence remains under-explored. To better understand this, Thrivable collected 3,500 open-ended audio responses from 591 people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes using GLP-1s. The findings revealed that patients often succeed despite the healthcare system, not because of it.

What you get

  • Direct verbatims from patients who are currently on their GLP-1 journey, from Awareness to Stabilization

  • An understanding of how patients unexpectedly navigate side effects during the first three months of their GLP-1 therapy

  • A glimpse into the patient perception of the conversations they’re having with their healthcare providers – are they getting the support they need? Are they starting therapy with the appropriate information in hand for success?
